The researchers now agree that for “standard or low” risk children, high-allergenic foods can be introduced at any time after 4 to 6 months of age when supplemental foods are added, regardless of age (i.e., 8 months of age is not required for egg yolk consumption). Although milk, eggs, soy, peanuts, wheat, nuts, fish, and shellfish are all allowed to be introduced under the age of 1, the following should be noted:
